about the artist.
Kelli Sweeney is a full time artist and art instructor out of Minnesota, USA.
She is a proud associate member of the American Watercolor Society, and member of the American Society of Botanical Artists.
She has been a botanical artist for over ten years and formerly co-owned the art company Wild Botanical Atelier, whose focus was painting Minnesota native wildflowers.
She has painted commissions for Itasca State Park , and has sold from Minnesota retailers such as Natural Light , Clean Haven Naturals, and Minnesota Made Apparel.
She has taught workshops across Minnesota at a variety of venues, like Glädje Gallery, Lost in the Forrest and The Edge Bar & Boutique. Kelli has recently collaborated with C/F Staging and Decorating out of Otsego, MN painting original acrylics.
Autumn of 2026, she will debut as one of the newest art instructors at the University of Minnesota’s Landscape Arboretum, which boasts over 700,000 visitors from across the globe each year.
In 2026, she is open to guest teaching at destination locations in Minnesota and across the midwest.
In her free time, she enjoys playing sand volleyball, going to book club, playing violin & viola, volunteering as a Master Gardener in Sherburne County, Minnesota, and watching her three children and husband play hockey.

the story behind the name.
Kelli Sweeney is the owner of Regina North Art Co, and behind the name lies a beautiful story:
Regina was my great-grandmother. I knew her when I was small; when I was a child, she was well into her mid 90’s! She was kind, gentle, and calming to be around.
She went through a lot in her life; my great-grandfather was physically abusive. He did pass away in the 70’s, and after, she had quite a few years of gardening, crocheting, and shining!
When family and friends remember her, they say things like:
“She was an angel on earth.”
“She was the kindest, most positive person I have ever met.”
“She survived her life situation and lived as long as she did, because of her extremely positive outlook on life.”
“Regina loved being in her garden. She always had the most beautiful garden.”
“She is the most amazing person I have ever known.”
Regina was also a creator; a crocheter. One way she shared her love was by making all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren crochet blankets. She made an estimated 200 blankets, and did not miss even one person in the entirety of the family!
She died on Christmas day at the age of 96. At her funeral, anyone who could, brought and laid a kaleidoscope of beautiful crocheted blankets all across the room. It was so beautiful; I remember feeling happy at seeing all of the colors.
My great-grandmother left a legacy of resilience and love through her sustained positivity, her kindness, and her creations.
In my business, she is a reminder of humility, strength, resilience, and using your skills and creativity to care for the world and others.
